Silico chrome is an alloy of iron, chromium, and silicon that contains at least 30% chromium and 35% silicon. It’s used in the production of abrasives, which are hard and heat-resistant materials used for sanding, polishing, cutting, and grinding.

Silico chrome is also used as an intermediate alloy to produce medium, low, and micro-carbon ferro chrome alloys. It’s also used as a deoxidizer and chromium additive in steelmaking.
