Ferro Boron

Ferroboron (FeB) is a ferroalloy made up of iron and boron. It’s a magnetic binary iron alloy with a boron content of 17.5–20%. It’s used as an alloying agent in steels to improve hot workability, hardenability, creep resistance, and neutron absorption Ferroboron is the most economical boron additive for steel and other ferrous metals. It’s added to steel to improve its properties and used in producing amorphous metals. Ferroboron is also used in welding materials, spraying, and powder metallurgy.

Some of Ferro Titanium applications are found in industries like

Stainless Steel Mills

Automobile

Casting

Ferroboron is manufactured by either:
• Carbothermic reduction of boric acid in an electric arc furnace together with carbon steel.
• Aluminothermic reduction of boric acid in the presence of iron.
